SUU Description

What’s great about Southern Utah University (SUU) in Cedar City, Utah is that it offers the academic programs of a comprehensive university, while also offering the shorter-term study programs found at a two-year college.

Regardless of your interest area or educational goal, or even if you’re not sure of your goal, SUU has a program that’s suitable for you.

SUU’s bachelor’s degrees span such disciplines as:

  • Business
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Humanities
  • Social Sciences
  • Visual and Performing Arts

Graduate degrees, which also encompass different subject areas, are granted as well.

If you’re not ready for a bachelor’s or graduate degree there is also the associate’s degree track which can be as general or specific as you wish. For example, there is the associate of arts in general studies, a broad degree which gives students the chance to sample many different subject areas before deciding which major to pursue.

The associate’s degree program may also be used as preparation for a career. These career-specific associate’s programs provide vocational expertise in such fields as:

  • Agriculture
  • Cabinet Making and Millwork
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Paralegal Studies

Finally, SUU offers an assortment of enrichment courses in health and wellness, languages, computers and other areas.

Undergraduate admissions applications at SUU are simple and quick. Students need only fill out an online application with their academic history and personal background. The admissions committee will then make an admissions decision within four weeks.

Financial aid options may be discussed with an SUU financial aid officer.
