Description
Fine Mortuary College in Norwood, Massachusetts, provides training to those who wish to work in the funeral service industry. Courses are comprehensive, emphasizing compassion and integrity as well as technical skills and include on-campus and distance learning. A school that is always expanding, Fine recently added courses to help students with study and other skills as well.
Since Fine’s classes are only offered to those in the training program, students study alongside those who have an equal amount of interest in the profession. In addition to embalming techniques, students take classes in social sciences, psychology, law and ethics, giving them a well-rounded education.
In recent years, as Fine has grown, they have developed ways of improving their program. One way they have done this has been to offer a certain number of courses online, cutting down student commute time and adding to the overall convenience of learning.
Fine also recently added a course to help students refine their studying, reading and test-taking skills.
Fine awards federal financial aid to admitted students who have a significant financial need. Federal aid packages include grants and loans. There are also scholarships, which may be based on academic merit as well as veteran’s benefits. Fine also has tuition payment plans.
Admissions requirements include an application, an essay of intent, recommendation letters and transcripts.
