Formerly the Art Center Design College, Southwest University of Visual Arts in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is exclusively dedicated to educating students in professions related to the visual arts The southwestern location, with its visual esthetic, is an ideal location for a visual arts school.

Undergraduate majors at Southwest University include such visual arts occupations as:

  • Graphic Design
  • Interior Design
  • Landscape Architecture
  • Photography

Through its MFA program, Southwest University also provides advanced graduate-level training in fine art practice. MFA concentrations include:

  • Drawing
  • Painting
  • Motion Arts

Student clubs at Southwest University give students the extra support and experience in their area of study as well as a social outlet and other benefits of college life.

Application materials include transcripts, a personal statement and essay, and SAT or ACT scores. All prospective students must also be interviewed by an admissions representative.

Southwest participates in federal aid programs, awarding Pell grants and loans to those who meet financial need and other requirements.
