In addition to providing state-of-the-art facilities, the La Plata campus of the College of Southern Maryland offers career training and academic programs resulting in transfers to some of the nation’s best universities.
Devoted to providing a range of learning options including online, evening, weekend and daytime classes, College of Southern Maryland offers programs through nine different academic divisions. These include general studies, business and technology, health sciences, languages and literature and the social sciences, human services and teacher education division.
While some students choose to go directly into the workforce, many transfer to universities across the country including Harvard and Penn State.
At the La Plata campus, students may also benefit from learning in high-tech laboratories.
With a 400-seat theatre, a fine arts center, a fitness center and various sports facilities, student life at La Plata also offers enrichment, culture and recreation.
The College of Southern Maryland also has campuses in Leonardtown, Prince Frederick and Waldorf.
All campuses provide comprehensive student services such as career services, tutoring, a writing lab and financial aid for eligible students.
