Working adults residing in Virginia may now receive a graduate or bachelor’s degree from the prestigious George Washington University, one of the oldest universities in the country.

In addition to exceptional academics in select professional areas, the Ashburn campus of George Washington University in Virginia, also known as George Washington University Science and Technology Center, is dedicated to carrying out some of the most important and cutting edge research in the country.

Primarily a graduate-degree-granting institution, George Washington Ashburn offers master’s degrees in such fields as:

  • Business
  • Education
  • Engineering
  • Public Health

George Washington’s Science and Technology Center also awards bachelor’s degrees in Health Sciences and Nursing.

Since its mission is to cater to working professionals, schedules at George Washington Ashburn are flexible and there are accelerated degree options as well as the option to work at one’s own pace.

As a research-based institution, George Washington Ashburn is responsible for conducting research in such areas as:

  • Earthquake Engineering
  • Energy Research
  • Nuclear Studies

Admissions requirements to George Washington’s Science and Technology Center vary from one program and department to another, with all programs being competitive and selective.

Students may apply for full or partial tuition fellowships and assistantships, each of which requires a separate application available from one’s department or from the school’s financial aid division.

Additional financial aid is made available through federal grants and loans. In order to be considered for these, one must fill out a FAFSA.
