IWU Description
An evangelical Christian university, Indiana Wesleyan is one of the largest private institutions in the state. It offers the resources and network of a large university with the educational benefits of a private school.As a Christian school, Indiana Wesleyan University’s academics are rooted in Christ. The Wesley Seminary offers a comprehensive graduate theological education, administering both Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Ministry degrees. In addition to Wesley Seminary, IWU consists of four academic divisions:
*College of Arts and Sciences
*College of Adult and Professional Studies
*School of Nursing
*Graduate School
If you’re looking for a more intensive academic experience, you can also apply to the John Wesley Honors College. The JWHC offers advanced coursework through the John Wesley Scholars and Mary C. Dodds Honors programs.
Student life at Indiana Wesleyan is community-based and Christ-centered. The World Impact program allows students to embark on mission trips throughout the world, and Spiritcare fosters the spiritual growth of IWU’s adult students.
Indiana Wesleyan’s financial aid programs are primarily designed for full-time students. The university participates in Title IV programs, and also offers numerous merit scholarships. For example, the Presidential Scholarship is awarded to Grant County high school graduates with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.
