Tri-County Community College School Description

The mission of the North Carolina Community College System is to open the door to high-quality, accessible educational opportunities that minimize barriers to post-secondary education, maximize student success, develop a globally and multi-culturally competent workforce, and improve the lives and well-being of individuals.

Tri-County Community College serves Cherokee, Clay and Graham counties from two convenient campuses, as well as through hundreds of online classes by providing college transfer, vocational, technical, and adult education programs. TCCC is one of the 58 community colleges of the North Carolina Community College System. Established in 1964, the College is a public, two-year institution accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

A TCCC education is a value that is hard to beat. Students can save nearly $5,000 by completing the first two years of college at TCCC and the second two at a public, four-year university in North Carolina. The savings are even greater if you transfer to a private institution. The low cost, combined with a quality education from highly-qualified instructors make TCCC hard to beat. If the cost is a factor for you, our financial aid department can help.

TCCC offers many ways to get involved in campus life. The Student Government Association is an active part of campus life and has been recognized as one of the best in the state. Organizations like Alpha Beta Gamma, Phi Theta Kappa, and the National Technical Honor Society recognize academic excellence. Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) works on community outreach projects that help members learn about economics, success skills, entrepreneurship and more. The Hiking Club lets students, faculty and staff share their love of the trail while members of the Astronomy Society turn their eyes to the sky.
