About TCCC

Tri-County Community College offers just about every service imaginable for a two-year institution. From GED prep courses and workforce development to vocational certification and associate’s degree programs, TCCC is a one-stop source for community education in western North Carolina.

TCCC’s academics present some unique opportunities. The school has over 20 academic programs, many of which are professionally oriented. However, students who wish to transfer to a four-year institution will find plenty of support as well.

For example, the College Transfer Pathway program allows high school juniors and seniors to take general education classes in the Core 44 curriculum. This is the core curriculum used by all North Carolina public universities, enabling easy transfer to a bachelor’s degree program down the road.

Despite being a commuter school, TCCC’s campus offers plenty of ways to get involved. Student life at Tri-County Community College includes honor societies like Alpha Beta Gamma and Phi Theta Kappa, as well as recreational organizations like the Hiking Club.

State and federal financial aid programs are a good source of need-based tuition assistance. In addition to these, Tri-County Community College has many scholarships sponsored by local residents and businesses. These scholarships require the FAFSA, as well as an application form.

I really like the staff at Tri County . It is a smaller school and I wish it had more funding for some of the things that I think we should have for my area of study. I really like all of my instructors so far . They all have been there to help me with anything I might have had trouble with. All in all , I think it is a great school , even if you are just using it to start off your educational path.

I am a mother of three children, working part time as well as going to school, so having a community college nearby has helped me a great deal. Attending Tri county community college has given me the chance to futher my education and be able to look forward to having a rewarding career. Tri County Community College has been a wonderful learning expierience for me personally. I remember when I first enrolled at Tri County Community college many years ago, It was such a warm welcomimg place it made me feel at home. When I decided to come to school this year I was looking forward to it because of that same reason. It hasn't changed that much maybe a few more camouses added on nothing major but I still enjoy it immensily and it is in such a convient location. I would highly recommend Tri County Community College to anyone who is thinking about enrolling into a two year college. You get quality learning in a small atmosphere which I love. Their is alot of one on one and the people I have made friends with I will never forget.
