Description

Since 1973, Northwest Indian College has operated under the belief that higher education should be available to all Native Americans. The school prides itself on being the only accredited tribal college in the Pacific Northwest, and continually strives to improve and expand.
In its recent mission to become a university, Northwest Indian College has built several new facilities, including:

*NWIC Science Building
*Center for Student Success
*Early Learning Center
*Residential halls

Northwest Indian College’s academics currently include a variety of certificates, associate’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees. The college also offers continuing education courses, which are open to students of at least 16 years of age.

Due to its status as a tribal college, NWIC has somewhat unique admissions requirements. In addition to an application, the school requires proof of your tribal status. If you live on or near an Indian reservation, you’re also eligible for a tuition discount.

NWIC is committed to community education, particularly with regard to Pacific Northwest’s Native American tribes. The recently completed Cooperative Extension Office sponsors a number of outreach programs to provide educational opportunities to a variety of tribal cultures.
