James Rumsey Technical Institute has programs for high school students and adults, making it a popular source of technical education in the tri-county area of West Virginia.

Located in Martinsburg, James Rumsey Tech has more than 15 courses for high school students. In addition to taking General Studies courses in math, english, science and history students also pursue a career-oriented diploma. Career programs for high school students include Automotive Technology, Criminal Justice, Graphic Design and health-related fields.

Programs for adults are also practical and trade-oriented and include everything from Truck Driving to Practical Nursing.

For individuals already established in a career, James Rumsey offers short-term evening courses to help them to upgrade their skills.

James Rumsey also has basic education courses in ESL and GED prep. Online courses are available as well.

Students who, like those in practical nursing, need to take a test to become licensed in their field, receive test prep courses free of charge.
