UNM Valencia Description

To prepare its students for baccalaureate programs or for immediate gainful employment in one of New Mexico’s rapidly growing industries, the University of New Mexico in Valencia, New Mexico, offers a variety of fully transferrable academics and occupational certificates to any student who has earned a high school diploma or GED.

Some of the many career options available at the Valencia campus include:

  • Computer-Aided Drafting
  • Office and Business Technology
  • Criminology
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Information Technology

Students who already know that they would like to pursue a baccalaureate degree have the option of completing coursework for degrees in fields like Business Administration, Dental Hygiene, Radiologic Technologies and Nursing on the Valencia campus.

If you would like to develop your leadership skills, you can get involved in Valencia’s Student Government Association or join the Phi Theta Kappa honor society for a variety of experiences that will allow you to practice working with others and manage projects.

To support you through your educational experience, UNM-Valencia’s faculty and staff are always available to lend assistance through academic advising, placement testing and counseling.

To encourage more of the Valencia County to pursue higher education, the Valencia campus maintains an open-door admissions policy.

The Valencia campus offers financial aid to eligible students through State of New Mexico and Title IV tuition assistance programs.
