Metropolitan Community College - Blue River School Description

The Metropolitan Community Colleges, as comprehensive post-secondary institutions, provide access to affordable, responsive, quality education and training opportunities in a supportive and caring environment that values diverse constituencies and enables individuals to successfully pursue lifelong educational and career goals.

More than 3,500 students each fall seek success at our Blue River campus in Independence. In addition to strong gen ed programs, it is home to excellent music and theatre programs and the Public Safety Institute with its peace officer, firefighter and EMT-paramedic training.

Students get support from an academic resource center and development center and enjoy the Trailblazers soccer team. Each year, Blue River builds its programs and events around a central theme.
