For a quality nursing school in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, Citizens School of Nursing is the place to be. The comprehensive program prepares students to become registered nurses and skillful members of the health care community.Applications for admission are due before August of each year. In order to be eligible you must have a GED or be a high school graduate, and have either taken the SAT or an assessment test.
Financial aid applications must be filed by May 1st of every year for grants or loans, through the FAFSA. Those who qualify will be able to use their federal aid to attend Citizens School of Nursing.
The program is split into two years of study. The first year has three terms and focuses on academic studies in fields like basic nursing, anatomy, nutrition, physiology, and other nursing subjects. The second year focuses on management skills and nursing informatics.
Advisors are available to help students identify strengths and weaknesses in order to best excel academically. There are also professional and social activities such as the student membership in the Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania or the student council.
