Penn State Description

As a satellite college of one of the largest universities in the nation, Penn State Harrisburg offers the resources of the PSU system in a smaller setting. Located in the capitol of Pennsylvania, the school offers students direct access to a variety of internship and work opportunities.

One of Penn State Harrisburg’s functions is as a transfer school to Penn State. To serve this purpose, the school has courses that lead to any of the more than 150 undergraduate concentrations offered at PSU. You can get some requirements out of the way at Harrisburg, and then transfer to University Park for further study.

Of course, PSU Harrisburg is also a university in its own right, offering more than 60 degree programs. Its academics extend to the graduate and doctoral level as well, with over 25 postgraduate concentrations, including doctoral programs in Adult Education, American Studies and Public Administration.

Recently, PSU’s Harrisburg campus has also embarked on a number of significant construction projects. Among these are a new library, student housing, and a student activities building (known as the Town Square). The Eastgate Center, another recent improvement, is home to the Pennsylvania Securities Commission and the e-Commerce Center.
