UW Oshkosh Description

Part of the largest university in the state, University of Wisconsin in Oshkosh provides traditional and alternative learning options and numerous on-campus recreational, service and cultural activities.

A traditional bachelor’s degree at Oshkosh may be earned in such academic areas as literature, languages, the natural and social sciences and performing and fine arts. Oshkosh also has professional bachelor’s degrees in such fields as business, education and nursing. Graduate programs are also available.

The Center for New Learning (CNL) is one of several alternative education programs at the Oshkosh campus. This particular program is designed exclusively for adult learners who would, without the flexibility and online courses of CNL, not be able to pursue advanced education.

Research centers as well as respected publications, such as the one on Film and History, may also be found at Oshkosh.

Student life activities include a wide range of academic, cultural, political, religious and social clubs and activities.

Students are also given the option to study abroad at an international university for a semester or year.

Since it’s a state university, UW’s tuition is substantially lower for Wisconsin residents. Financial aid is also available to qualifying students.

Admissions requirements vary depending on the program or department to which one is applying.
