Part of the City of New York system, CUNY York is located in Jamaica Plains, New York.

Over 40 major fields of study are offered in a range of liberal arts and sciences and professional programs. Occupational therapy, social work, nursing, business administration, fine and performing arts, music and foreign languages are just some of York’s offerings. York also has pre-professional offerings in medicine, dentistry and psychology.

CUNY has also implemented an aviation management degree, through which students are given opportunities to work at such places as Kennedy airport.

Undergraduate research was also implemented in 2010, giving students the chance to engage in higher-level thinking alongside faculty.

Student life affords students many opportunities and includes a number of cultural and arts-oriented student organizations, as well as notable professional concerts and performances at York’s huge auditorium or theatre. There are also numerous athletic teams.

Admission to CUNY is based on several factors including transcripts and test scores.

While CUNY’s tuition is significantly lower for in-state residents, financial aid is available through loans, grants and other sources.
