The Notre Dame Seminary Graduate School of Theology in New Orleans, Louisiana, is dedicated to preparing students for ministerial work in the Roman Catholic Church and deepening their knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith.
The seminary strives to be a community where each student can develop personally and spiritually. As a seminarian, you will attend mass and pray every day, commit to weekly spiritual reading and participate in a yearly retreat.
While your college life will be immersed in the Catholic faith, you will still have the opportunity to develop professionally and personally. A number of organizations, workshops and community service opportunities are available, helping you to learn through character-shaping experiences.
The academics offered at the seminary include master’s degrees in Divinity and Theological Studies.
If you are a student who does not want to serve the world as a pastor, but instead wants a deeper relationship to religion, you can enroll in one of Notre Dame’s many certificate programs. These courses are designed to help you develop leadership and ministerial skills.
Applications are available on the seminary’s website. To be considered for enrollment, applicants must submit all official transcripts, two letters of recommendation, physical and psychological examinations and a letter of sponsorship from your local diocese.
