Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES (Board of Cooperative Educational Services) is an organization which provides quality educational services and programs for 25 school districts and residents of Wayne, Ontario, Seneca and Yates counties. It is committed to working in partnership with all its stakeholders to improve students' academic performance throughout the region. A long-range strategic plan gives us direction as we focus our efforts toward providing support and leadership in achieving New York State's Standards.
Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES provides the opportunity for adult learners to complete a program in Practical Nursing. As a practical nursing student, you will learn to identify, plan, implement, evaluate and provide patient care in preparation for the New York State examination for licensure. The program includes classroom instruction in the scientific principles and theory of nursing and laboratory skills training. Clinical experiences include rotation in the long term care setting, continuing care areas, and medical-surgical units. This course includes 1125 hours of instruction.
