LVC Description

Lebanon Valley College was founded in 1866 and was originally a private coeducational institution. The original school site was on the Annville Academy and later become a four-year institution. The first graduating class of Lebanon Valley College was in 1870 since classes had just begun May 7, 1866. Also known as “Lebanon Valley,” “The Valley,” and “LVC,” Lebanon Valley College was originally associated with the Church of the United Brethren in Christ and is now affiliated with the United Methodist Church.

Lebanon Valley College now offers a four-year curriculum in liberal arts where students can choose between an associate’s degree program, bachelor’s degree program or master’s degree program. Along with a long list of majors of study, Lebanon Valley College offers special programs and special options to students such as secondary education certificates in different areas of study as well as departmental honors, individualized majors and internships. With a student to faculty ratio of 13:1 and an average class size of 20, students at Lebanon Valley College student enrollment shows 1,600 full-time students, 157 part-time students and 315 graduate students.

The mission of Lebanon Valley College is to offer students at Lebanon Valley College academic opportunities with the community and environment in mind. Along with this mission in mind, Lebanon Valley College also aims to build and foster skills, attitudes and knowledge in each student to prepare them for the future. By fostering such knowledge, Lebanon Valley College prepares students for when they enter a diverse and changing world and to be prepared for such changes.
