Description

The College of Technical Education (CTE) in Lexington, Kentucky offers career training that focuses not only on the skills of the discipline, but on the skills needed to secure jobs.

Programs at the College of Technical Education include certifications in Medical Assisting, Cosmetology, Food Service and Early Childhood Education.

Since most programs take a year or less to complete, the time spent in school is short. For that reason it is also intense and focused.

Students in all of CTE’s programs learn through hands-on work in their field. Not only that, but as soon as students begin their program at CTE they are assigned employment consultants.

Consultants help them throughout the year with resume writing, mock interviews, job-searching and obtaining part-time work in their field while still in school.

Consultations for additional issues are also offered for students who have never worked due to disability or other impediments.

Financial aid is available for eligible students. Instructions on how to apply and on types of aid available may be obtained from a CTE financial aid counselor.
