Description

At New England School of Hair Design in West Lebanon, New Hampshire, students get comprehensive training in the Beauty Arts, which includes workshops with industry professionals and numerous traditional and unique hands-on opportunities.

Degrees and training at New England School are offered in Cosmetology, Manicuring and Teacher-Education. Refresher courses are also available for seasoned professionals who wish to upgrade their skills.

Classes include practical skills-training, theory and instruction in the business and customer service aspects of the beauty industry.

Students also have the benefit of working with and learning from respected professionals through seminars, lectures and workshops.

Hands-on experience is a substantial part of the program, and students get it through working in the school salon and giving beauty demonstrations. Another unique way that students get hands-on experience is through community service events. At local theatres, for example, New England College students do the hair and make-up for the performers. The students also participate in fundraising events where they practice cutting and styling, with the proceeds from their services going to serve a charitable cause.

Students must have a high school diploma or GED to apply. New England School of Hair Design uses the student interview as the primary criteria for admission.

Students may apply for grants, loans and other forms of financial aid. Veteran’s benefits are also available.
