Overall
I think that Alvernia is an over all good school, but I believe they can improve in a few ways. As far as prospective students, if you're into a private, catholic education, then it's a good school for u. I like that there's a variety of classes, you're allowed to take electives and the professors are very understanding.
Academics
I think the workload can be a bit intimidating. I think the courses and curriculum are reasonable and rigorous. The professors are understanding and nice, class sizes are fairly small. Most of the classes are program related. I htink that it's a bit unnecessary some of the classes that they expect you to take, especially if you're a transfer student, but I understand the core requiremkents of a liberal arts education.
College Life
There's a variety of clubs and activities that the school provides. I have no complaints there. There are a variety of opportunites for students to partake in, even if youre a commuter. You can sign up in the office of students and take any trips. TAhere's a health and wellness center, even for the students who aren't living on campus and don't have insurance.

Overall
I am an adult student continuing my education and everyone in the continuing education office have been very supportive and encouraging. The professors that I had have been very understanding of the "adult" student and extremely encouraging. I like the fact that the classes at night fit into my life schedule. I've been doing very well at my studies and that is my memorable experience, it's been such a long time since I've been in college and I was very intimidated; but the stuff and students at Alvernia have put me at ease.
Academics
I take classes at night through the continuing education program. The class sizes are relatively small and the professors that I have had have been interesting and extremely knowledgeable. My returning to college after 20 years was very intimidating and Alvernia has been quite the god-send for me. The professors have been easy to get along with and the interaction has been quite good. When I email a professor, the turnaround time is good, I don't have to "wait" for an answer to a question - I've very happy with my decision to attend Alvernia.
College Life
Since I am a returning adult student and attending classes at night the social atmosphere and clubs and organizations don't apply to me. The campus safety department have been very nice and are always visible when I leave class at night. I don't feel afraid to walk to my car.

Overall
I love this college. I got both my bachelor's and my master's from Alvernia. My most memorable moment was in final year of my bachelors degree, when I got the chance to student teach. The placements were awesome and it really prepared me for what I do know. I really liked the small class size at this college and they have a wonderful education program. These are the two main reasons I choose to go to Alvernia.
Academics
I loved how the class sizes were small and the professors knew my name. I wasn't just a number. They would take the time to talk to you after class and help you with anything you needed. The workload was a bit much, but it depends how many classes/credits you take. It is definitely doable.
College Life
I lived at home and commuted to school, but I did play basketball my first year. Even as an alumni, I still get invited to events on campus. They have a lot of clubs and organizations for you to join. There is always security visible, so the environment is safe. There isn't much to do in walking distance, but the night life can be great.

Overall
When I visited Alvernia during an open house, I was happy to learn more about the school. The information sessions that were available were very helpful and my tour guide was a very enthusiastic nursing major. The campus is small but yet has great academic and athletic programs. The softball coach has been great in informing us about her program.
Academics
Since I will be enrolling at Alvernia in the fall, I have not yet experienced the academic program. When I visited, I did attend a class in which we dissected a cat. This was a great opportunity for me and I look forward to attending in the fall.
College Life
When I visted for an overnight, I was hosted by a softball player. We ate dinner with the team and played volleyvball at night. There seems to be plenty of activity which is great for our physical and mental well being.
