Description

If you have a strong interest in studying abroad, Simpson College is worth a look. The school purposefully structures its calendar for international study, with a three-week term in addition to its two 4-month semesters. This schedule makes studying abroad a crucial part of student life at Simpson.

Of course, there are plenty of educational opportunities on campus as well. Simpson College’s academics include over 40 programs of study offered through more than 20 departments. The student-to-faculty ratio is small, so you know that you’ll get the individualized attention and small class sizes that make private liberal arts colleges so appealing.

Simpson College emphasizes civic responsibility, as demonstrated by its Engaged Citizenship Curriculum. This curriculum, which was launched in fall 2011, requires all Simpson students to take seven “Areas of Engagement” courses.

Some of the subjects of these courses include diversity and power in the United States, ethics and values inquiry and global perspectives. There are numerous financial aid options at Simpson to help you fund your education, including institutional scholarships, Title IV programs, and outside scholarships for those who qualify. Simpson students can also earn scholarships from the United Methodist Church, with which the college is affiliated.
