Description

Have you been considering a career as a Registered Nurse? The Dorothea Hopfer School of Nursing, based in Mt. Vernon Hospital, is a private school offering a comprehensive registered nurse program. Being located in the hospital assists students with adapting to the atmosphere and environment of working in a hospital on a day-to-day basis.

Students can earn their associate’s degree of nursing (ADN) here, and be eligible to sit for the RN National Council Licensure Exam. After earning their ADN, students can also continue their education towards a bachelor’s degree elsewhere.

The Hopfer School of Nursing has established matriculation options with College of New Rochelle, Dominican College and Mercy College. The school offers a day program and an evening/Saturday program.

The admissions process at Dorothea Hopfer School of Nursing consists of three steps. First, applicants must submit all the required paperwork, transcripts, references, etc. Next, eligible applicants will meet with the Admission Committee. Third, the Admission Committee will notify the applicant via mail if they have been accepted.

Dorothea Hopfer School of Nursing charges the same tuition for in-state and out-of-state residents. Financial Aid may be available to eligible students in the form of the FAFSA and New York State’s Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).
