With Jesus Christ as our model, we advance and strengthen the healing mission of the Catholic Church by providing comprehensive, excellent healthcare that is compassionate and attentive to the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. We promote healthy families, responsible stewardship of the environment, and a just society through value-based relationships and community-based collaboration.

St. Francis Career College (SFCC) began as a single Vocational Nursing Class of 14 in 1988 and has grown to become a nationally accredited educational institution still operated by the reputable St. Francis Medical Center (SFMC). Today, the College has two campuses; Lynwood Main Campus and San Jose Branch which opened in September 2003. In our current academic year 2010, approximately 500 students will be enrolled in the Career Training Division dedicated to preparing promising students to succeed in healthcare professions by providing value-based education in an empowering and nurturing environment. SFCC also coordinates a number of Career Advancement Programs enabling SFCC students, alumni, SFMC associates, and other prospective students the opportunity to pursue a Registered Nurse Associates Degree in collaboration with East Los Angeles College.

St. Francis Medical Center is located in one of the most densely populated communities in Southern California. The families served by St. Francis Medical Center generally live within a 5-mile radius between the 110 Freeway on the West, the 605 Freeway on the East, the 91 Freeway on the South and Alameda Industrial Corridor on the North. Our primary service area includes the communities of Lynwood, South Gate, Downey, Huntington Park, Bell, Cudahy, Bell Gardens, Maywood, Compton and Southeast Los Angeles.
