Description
Monmouth County Vocational School District in Freehold, New Jersey is made of a series of high schools which offer everything from vocational education to strong college prep options for the Trenton-area community. In addition to programs in practical nursing, adult education, culinary arts and health sciences, the Monmouth County School District offers college prep options in specific fields.
Among these programs are the Marine Science Training program. This program provides college preparatory education for those who wish to go on to advanced study of marine biology. In the process, students intern at places like Gateway National Park and Clean Ocean Action. Students also participate in the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.
The Communications High School at Monmouth County is a preparatory program for students who wish to pursue degrees in the communication arts such as journalism, writing and broadcasting. Students in this program participate in a variety of activities, including performances, broadcasting and editing of publications.
Monmouth County Vocational School has distance learning options which continues to expand. Students who take distance learning courses have done everything from converse in Spanish with students in Spain to participate live in “Read Across America.”
