Description

Muskingum University, a small Presbyterian university in New Concord, Ohio, offers personalized liberal arts-based academics that nurture the whole person.

The first undergraduate year at Muskingum is grounded firmly in liberal arts studies, after which students go on to pursue their major. Majors include such fields as Pre-Law, Religion, Engineering, Nursing, a variety of interdisciplinary programs and the spectrum of arts and sciences-based subjects.

A small collection of graduate degrees are also offered, primarily in teacher-education. For adult students, Muskingum offers such programs through evening and weekend courses for convenience. Dedicated to nurturing the whole student, Muskingum classes don’t only impart intellectual ideas.

They also help students to examine their subjects from a spiritual and ethical perspective, a style of learning enhanced by the small, personalized classroom atmosphere.

Muskingum’s commitment to the whole person is also seen in the way learning takes place beyond the classroom. Students undertake internships in their fields of study and also study abroad.

Muskingum’s student life also integrates all aspects of its students. Included is an active religious ministry, which offers on-campus worship and services. There is also a radio station, an award-winning newspaper, a number of clubs, sports teams and academic, career-oriented and arts organizations.

The student services are also comprehensive and include on-campus residences, financial aid opportunities, academic advising, personal counseling, career development and a wellness center.
