The New Mexico State University in Carlsbad, New Mexico, is one of the state’s largest land-grant institutions that offer comprehensive educational, research and public service programs.

Academics include undergraduate majors in a wide variety of fields, from Accounting to Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management to Journalism to Wildlife Sciences. Graduate programs include concentrations in business, education, arts and sciences and engineering fields, among others.

Admissions are open. As long as you possess high school diploma or GED, submit your transcripts and complete an application, you’ll have the opportunity to attend the university.

Tuition is set lower for New Mexico residents. The school offers tuition waivers to qualifying students who are active duty military workers, members of an American Indian Nation, tribe or pueblo, or Navajo Tribal members.

Students may be considered for financial aid if they complete a FAFSA. Assistance options include institutional scholarships, work-study programs, federal grants and direct student loans.
