West Virginia’s only centrally-located public four-year school, Glenville State College provides educational opportunities for students of all backgrounds from throughout the state.

Located in Glenville, West Virginia, Glenville State College’s student body mostly consists of state residents, with many of them coming from economically challenged backgrounds. The majority of Glenville students are, in fact, the first in their family to attend school. Glenville makes this possible by offering financial aid, including loans, grants and scholarships, to to students who qualify by demonstrating need.

Glenville State is particularly well-known for its teacher-education programs, leading to careers in elementary, middle school and secondary education.

However, Glenville also has more than 20 additional degree programs leading to careers in business, criminal justice, the sciences, music, land resources and other fields.

For students seeking a two-year degree, Glenville State has associate’s degree programs as well, leading to careers in forest technology and land surveying among others. Students in an associate’s program may also choose to transfer to another four-year university.

Student service offerings include career and personal counseling, on-campus healthcare, a meal plan, campus residences, campus postal service and a fitness center. There are also student organizations, clubs and sports activities.
