BRCC Description
One of the main educational sources for Shenandoah Valley Residents, Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Valley, Virginia serves residents of the region by providing academic opportunities and comprehensive student services.
Aviation Maintenance Technology, Horticulture, Human Services, Nursing and Veterinary Technology are some of the areas in which students may get professional training. Blue Ridge also works in collaboration with other colleges to offer degrees and training in such fields as Culinary Arts and Respiratory Therapy.
Transfer degrees are available as well in such fields as Business, Computer Science, Engineering and Teacher Education.
In order to best serve the Shenandoah Valley community, the school provides a free shuttle service for those living in Harrisonburg and Staunton as well as in Rockingham and Augusta Counties.
Other services at Blue Ridge include career counseling, disability support, personal counseling and tutoring.
By joining one of Blue Ridge’s professional, academic, religious or special interest clubs, students may develop additional skills and interests while expanding their social network.
Anyone interested in attending Blue Ridge will need to have a high school diploma or GED and take an entrance exam.
Tuition for in-state residents is reduced by more than half, and students may also apply for financial aid to see if they qualify for scholarships or loans.
