Highland Community College, Freeport

For an associate degree program in Freeport, IL, head on down to Highland Community College. In just two years, on campus or through online classes, you can have a degree and possibly transfer to a four-year university.

Students can choose from one or more of these exciting majors: Agriculture, Business, Computer Science, Cosmetology, Education, Engineering, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Industrial Manufacturing, Law Enforcement, Nail Technician, Physical Education and Wind Turbine Technician.

The student services offered by HCC have built a well-rounded college experience. There is a library, bookstore, clubs and organizations, activities and events, the Ferguson Fine Arts Center hosting concerts and other theatrical productions, and many sports teams. A trained crisis counselor is available for student use if needed.

The Highland Community College Foundation has a wealth of scholarships available to different types of eligible students. There are over 100 scholarships in all.

There is also an special program called Project Succeed that was created for low-income, first-generation students. The program provides tuition-free classes, skill-building workshops, personal counseling, transfer assistance, free tickets to campus plays and concerts, and everything else necessary for a fulfilling college experience.
