Description

Iowa Western Community College, one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the region, has the latest in facilities and technology to create the optimum learning experience.

Located in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Iowa Western offers more than 80 programs including vocational and technical fields as well as subjects in the liberal arts. Iowa Western also houses a well-known flight school for people pursuing aircraft professions.

The laboratories at IWCC offer the latest in technology. The nursing program, for example, has simulated patients to give students an optimum, hands-on learning experience.

Course delivery is also technologically refined. In addition to on-site classes there are also online and web-enhanced offerings.

Students at Iowa Western may enhance their learning experience and performance by using one of Iowa Western’s campus resources. These include supplemental instruction, tutoring, writing and math labs and study skills workshops.

Iowa Western students may also benefit from extracurricular activities. Whether they participate in an academic club, sports team, or work at the student-run experimental radio station there are many chances to enhance learning and cultivate other interests while socializing as well.

With all of this it is no surprise that many Iowa Western students succeed in their chosen field or move on to respected universities or four-year colleges. Iowa Western’s career development center provides internships and assists with job placement, while academic advising services assist students who wish to transfer.

Financial aid is available to qualifying students through loans, grants and other sources, which may be discussed with a financial aid counselor.
