Pinnacle Career Institute is a private, specialized school organized to meet the educational needs of its students, the business community, and the general citizenry by providing educational opportunities through professional business and administrative programs. These programs are designed to prepare students for immediate employment to meet technological and business demands. Pinnacle Career Institute is a career college with schools in South Kansas City, Missouri and North Kansas City, and in Lawrence, Kansas. PCI has an online campus as well. Offering certificates and degrees, the school has been in existence for more than fifty years and is increasing the number of programs offered in order to stay current with job market trends.

Sport psychology is a specialization within psychology that seeks to understand psychological/mental factors that affect performance in sports, physical activity and exercise and apply these to enhance individual and team performance. It deals with increasing performance by managing emotions and minimizing the psychological effects of injury and poor performance. Some of the most important skills taught are goal setting, relaxation, visualization, self-talk, awareness and control, concentration, using rituals, attribution training, and periodization.
