Description

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston was created by the U.T. System Board of Regents and supported by the Texas Legislature in 1972. Located in the world renowned Texas Medical Center, it brings together the Dental Branch, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, the Medical School, the School of Public Health, the School of Nursing, the School of Health Information Sciences, the UT Harris County Psychiatric Center, and the Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine for the Prevention of Human Diseases. The university pursues its mission through a comprehensive approach to health.

As a comprehensive health science university, the mission of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston is to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health.

We pursue this mission in order to advance the quality of human life by enhancing the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease and injury, as well as promoting individual health and community well-being.

Our campus is located in the world famous Texas Medical Center of Houston, Texas which consists of 44 owned buildings and leased facilities with a total of 3.9 million assignable square feet.
