In addition to career training, Flathead Valley Community College in Libby, Montana, offers exceptional transfer programs, including those that allow students to get their four-year degree without leaving Flathead Valley. Associate’s degrees designed for career preparation are offered in Business, Healthcare, Technological fields and specialty areas like Culinary Arts.
Flathead Valley also offers specialized academics for those who want to transfer to a four-year university. Students may choose to major in such disciplines as:

In addition, Flathead Valley has a Scholars program that allows students to undertake an interdisciplinary major, which blends several disciplines. Designed for advanced students, the Scholars program offers small classes, individualized attention and is extremely appealing to four-year colleges.
Those who decide to attend one of Montana’s public universities, such as University of Montana, may also do so while staying at home. Through agreements with these schools students attend their UM courses and earn their degree from UM all on the Flathead Valley campus.
A large number of Flathead Valley students do transfer to four-year universities and the majority of them have statistically done very well, earning A’s and B’s at their four-year schools.
To make its programs affordable for as many area residents as possible, Flathead Valley does its best to provide financial aid awards like grants and scholarships, which do not need to be paid back. If necessary, students may also take out loans.
An application, transcripts, an essay and personal statement, SAT, ACT or Compass scores, and an academic reference are required for admission to Flathead Valley.
