Georgia, the Peach State, hosts 32 private colleges and universities and 35 public colleges and universities, plus an extensive technical college system. The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia is the single governing and managing authority over all of Georgia’s public institutions and oversees four research, two regional, and thirteen state universities as well as seven state colleges, and nine two-year colleges.

Several Georgia colleges and universities are ranked by a nationally recognized college review as among the Best Southeastern Colleges and Best Value Colleges. US News & World Report list of America’s Best Colleges has ranked Georgia Institute of Technology and University of Georgia on their list of Top Schools.
