Memphis, TN

Memphis doesn’t get quite as much attention as its cross-state counterpart, Nashville, but it’s still a very large city at 633,000 people. As such, there is a lot to do and plenty of places to get an education.  The University of Memphis is the largest college in the city, but there are other options, too.

With a rich history in civil rights (some good, some bad… Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated in Memphis), including the American Civil Rights Movement, the city has a very gritty feel and takes pride in standing together and helping each other overcome issues.

The weather is mild year-round, and the cost of living is quite low compared to other cities of similar size.
