Farmingdale State College Scholarships

Part of the State University of New York system, Farmingdale State College is a liberal arts college with a truly progressive mindset. The college’s Green Building Institute is a testament to this forward-thinking attitude. Completed in 2010, the institute fosters sustainability research, and the design and construction of green buildings.

Like its fellow SUNY schools, Farmingdale State College is also considered a great value. This is due in no small part to FSC’s tremendous scholarship opportunities, which can make the college’s relatively low tuition even more affordable.

Popular Farmingdale State College Scholarships

Merit is the main criterion for nearly all Farmingdale State College. Awards like the Gary Blum Scholarship and the Helen Albrecht Scholarship are based solely on GPA. Other scholarships, such as the Hank Hasiwar Memorial/Society of Fleet Supervisors Scholarship, consider both academic excellence and financial need.

Most Farmingdale State College scholarships for continuing students are departmental awards. These awards are typically reserved for students majoring in a particular subject. For example, applicants to the Horst Sallbach Award must be majoring in Manufacturing or Mechanical Technology.

Applying for Farmingdale State College Scholarships

Though its scholarships are based largely on merit, financial need is also a consideration for many Farmington State College scholarships. Make sure to complete the FAFSA to determine your eligibility for these scholarships.

Once you apply for financial aid, you’ll be automatically considered for FSC’s scholarship programs. Some scholarships require additional materials, such as the special exam for the Best Chemistry Freshman Award.
