Reviews for North Carolina A & T State University
The campus is beautiful. There is great Aggie Pride there! The students and staff are very helpful. When I went for a campus Open House I loved the dining area has a large choice of food and is very nutritional, I also liked the College of Engineering which I will be attending in the fall of 2013.
North Carolina A & T has classroom size about 20 students to a class. Engineering is about 6 % one of their majors. Workload and professors do not apply to me at this time for I am an incoming freshman.
There are a number of student organizations, student fraternities and sorities, ROTC, and are in the NCAA I athletic conference, and the MEAC. Campus has armed security and emergency stations throughout the campus, and closed circuit cameras.
I visited A&T as one of my prospective college choices while making my decisions. I choose A&T as my college choose, first because it provided the academic courses that I seek such "Animal Science", secondly it was not to far from home even though I will be staying on campus and last, I liked the atmosphere of the student, faculty and cultural environment. The students that assisted with the tour also helped as they provided a true picture of their own experiences and life at the college. And, most important I did my research about the "Animal Science" program and they had great reviews and strong student support outside of the classroom whereby assistance such a mentoring students being placed in potential careers of interest and in my case continue on to a successful Veterinarian degree program. I also inquired about post graduate programs leading to universities that accepts their BS- Animal Science" degrees which came with great reviews about grad placements.
I am currently a senior at Middle College High School at Durham Technical Community College in North Carolina, and the school classes/programs are very structured around student learning and advance careers. I find my professors very much involved in my learning and my future educational growth in an effort to help me be successful as I move on into college. The workload is geared to prepare me as an independent college student, whereby I can be autonomous in my learning and being responsible for my actions in getting work assignments done on-time and to a college level standard. I class sizes varies due to the specific structural layout of this middle college. In my high school classes the size mimics a regular high school but somewhat smaller enrollment numbers and my college classes are structured as college auditorium layout.
I have not yet started college. I am enrolled and due to start this fall 2013. But I can describe what I am looking for in a college. I am looking for a very open and friendly atmosphere, but still with a strong focus on academic successes. I am not a club person, have not entertain that lifestyle. Organizations, I would like to be active in sporting organizations and animal rights organizations. At this college A&T, safety was very much stressed as a high priority for the campus officials and have so far done a great job in maintaining a great safety for their students. I would like to be involved in the athletics program at A&T as I was very active in my high school track program. I have not had much opportunity to explore weekend activities in the area of the college but based on friends and current students there is lots to do to keep you entertained on weekends when not going home.
