Reviews for Southern Methodist University
SMU is the USC of the South. Small and private, but in a beautiful neighborhood.
SMU has small class sizes and the professors teach the classes.
There is so much to do on and off campus. I love it!
An esteemed university with variety of degree options and social event options but an emphasis on exclusionary sorority/fraternity events. I would have liked more guidance as to degree/career options. As a midway degree-changer I may have been able to avoid some issues with a more concise and interactive guidance environment.
Art school with variety of media resources and classes. An independent feel. The independent feel also included again a lack in regard to goal-oriented guidance. But a lot of this experience may have been from being a commuter student.
As a commuter student it was difficult to get a full grasp of the social aspects. There were a variety of social organizations though with a lot of events going on throughout the year. The campus has gotten much less of a secluded feel since I was there which has been to the benefit of campus vibrance.
SMU was a surprise. The staff spoke in detail about the school, both pros and cons. The tour was very detailed. SMU has a wide variety of classes and activities. I learned that I could have a double major and it could be done at SMU with no need to transfer to another school to complete my education. The campus was clean and located centrally - no real need for a car. It had a feel of safety, which made my family relax.
I am a prospective student interested in Business and Music with a Minor in History. SMU is a campus with many opportunities to study both here and abroad. The class sizes are reasonable with a good teacher - student ratio.
I am a prospective student. Upon visiting SMU there were many things going on; a pool party, an Indian event, previous student weekend and the school has a huge gym which is open year round and weekends. The school is located close to downtown for easy commute. SMU is surrounded by a neighborhood with many restaurants, markets, library and a number of parks.
