Overall

Safe surroundings on campus, everything is easy to find and absolutely everyone is very helpful if you need assistance. I love the variety of different events always going on. There is always something to do and be involved in.

Academics

Classes and professors are very nice, understanding, and kind. They are very willing to give you assistance if you are willing to ask. Classes are clean and comfortable. Workload is normal and your responsibility to stay on top of, as clearly stated in class and on syllabus.

College Life

There is plenty to do on and off campus. The community is very supportive of students at BGSU. There is an active night life if you like dancing and socializing. There are many campus ministries if you are led by faith for activities to keep you connected.

- BG is small enough that everytime you walk around campus you see someone you know, but big enough that you meet new people everyday. - One of THE BIGGEST STEREOTYPES for BG is the thought that there are STDs floating around the school. That is a total misconception and false. There are no more STDs at BG than any other college. BG became known for that because in the 90's, BG was ranked first in the sdtate of Ohio. Loooonng time ago,.,..... - I joined a fraternity and had a great experience. However, greek life is not essential in order to have an active social life. I had many friends who were non-greek. - Freshamn year, try to get in Mac (McDonald Hall). Mac is by far the best Freshman dorm. - Skybar is the best bar for underagers - There are tons of great off-campus apartments to live in after freshman year

Academics

- The professors in the College of Business are great. They care about you and are willing to help you in whatever way possible. - Dr. Dan Klein was my favorite professor. He is head of the Finance Department. He knows A TON and is nice, and helpful. He will do ANYTHING for you. - Dr. Klein is also head of the Financial Management Society. (FMS). I joined FMS, and we met monthly, had guest speakers, and even took a trip to Chicago and visited the Chicago Board of Trade and Northern Trust. - There are Career Fairs held twice a year. I encourage you to go. Even if you dont know what you want to do, just go, and talk to employers. - For freshman elective, the BEST English Professor is CHRISTOF SCHEELE. This guy is the man! Not only is he the coolest teacher I've ever had, but he taught me how to write a god paper. He proves that a teacher can be COOL, and extremely helpful and influential at the same time. - For English classes, take advantage of the writing help -- it is led by upper classeman, and its free - there are TONS of computer labs which is very helpful for studying and group projects. Also, some computer labs are open 24 hours which is HUGE....very nice

College Life

- The student union is great. Tons of food choices. I also would go there to study -- i would find a quiet place up on the 2nd or 3rd floor - For Business and/or Finance majors, I encourage you to join the Financial Management Society (FMS). Dr. Dan Klein is the head of FMS. - There is also a business fraternity - The bar scene is pretty good. Just go up to Main St. and there are tons of bars and great restaurants. The BEST restaurant is TROTTER'S. The steak they serve is amazing -- they call it a "Brown Jug." My parent's and I would go there everytime they came to visit. - Other good bars -- Skybar, Beckett's, Junction and BRAUTHAUS (home of the "Legal Joint")

I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent in Bowling Green, and I wouldn't change it for the world. Actually, scratch that... I would change my freshman dorm. I spent my first semester in the 'honors' portion of the Kreischer Quad, and I was bored out of my mind. If you enjoy an active social life, do yourself a favor and start your college career in the McDonald Hall... it's the most lively dorm and offers the highest concentration of inebriated freshman on campus (as of '06). Conversely, if you prefer more mature hall-mates and/or don't like having 'typical' college fun, then shoot for the honors dorm.

Academics

Academics vary significantly across BGSU's many colleges/majors. The economics degree I received had a graduating class of six, with most of my major classes having between 8 and 15 students. While my average classroom size was small, this isn't the case across all programs. If you want to get the most out of your academics at BGSU, then I would encourage you to schedule classes so that you can take graduate level courses your senior year (in place of typical undergrad classes).

College Life

Don't let the rural landscape fool you... there are tons of things to do in Bowling Green. There's a great Greek Life scene, tons of parties, great bars, and activities abound. It's actually a good thing that there are no 'real' cities near Bowling Green. It allows you to focus on your schoolwork and campus/social life. I've seen too many friends go to schools like OSU and just get lost in the city, rather than the college. Plus, isn't it nice to have a clean and bum-free campus?

Overall

I have visited the campus. The sports at Bowling Green are excellent. I use to live near Bowling Green and I've want to attend school there never since I was young. They are also are rated highly in there academics.

Academics

I have yet to attend Bowling Green but I have heard that the class room size are smaller then most major universities, which this apply to me because I attended a small High School with a graduating class of 20 students.

College Life

Bowling Green is a small community with a lot to offer any student looking for a job or anything else they may be looking for in a short walk off campus. They have sporting event for the students to attend as well with a bookstore that has a lot to offer.
