I am a commuter student and live off campus, but from what I hear you can find a social circle easily on campus. There are a lot of clubs and organizations on campus that you can join and meet people with similar interests. For minority students I recommend applying to be in Connections Leadership. It is a part of the Office of Multicultural Affiars and your first year here you will meet as a group once a week to do fun things and get to know others on campus. Seattle University is now Division I and has a good basketball, soccer, and swim teams. I hear softball is pretty good as well. Being a history major I spend a lot of time studying, but do go to a game about once a month. Basketball, home games, are held in Key Arena and tickets are free for students. Home games are free if you show your student ID for games at Connelly Center and Logan Feild too. You can probably find whatever sport interest you. Plus there are the Seattle Seahawks, and Mariners just Downtown with buses that go to the stadium.

I always felt safe on campus. I did not participate in athletics or weekend activities because I was a commuter and I had a family. I was too busy to participate in social activities while going to school.
