Overall

Midwestern State University is a diverse university with students from different countries, cultures, race, genders and ethnicity. Coming from a different university, at first I thought I won't of fit it with the new surroundings and not knowing anyone. However, the atmosphere was different from what I expected. At MSU, the atmosphere is most sociable where students, faulty and workers are always willing aid in a moments notice. There are many things I find memorable like my first football match where I supported the Mustangs. For prospective students come with an open mind, at MSU, there is always something to do or organizations to be apart of to help you transit into the new surroundings.

Academics

Academics wise, MSU has a wide range of classes and programs within many different disciplines. The university offers traditional and distance learning programs at associates, bachelors and masters level. The class size varies from traditional to virtual classroom settings. The workload are specific to meet each discipline within whichever degree trying to obtain. The professors are always willing and able to help aid students with assistance in workload and assignments.

College Life

The atmosphere is most sociable. There are a variety of different clubs, organization to which any student can be apart of which helps them out via experience to put in resumes. There are community service opportunities as well as other social activities taking place at MSU where students come together and share experiences. The campus is very safe and there are campus police present if needed to assist students and customers of the university at a moments notice. The athletics at MSU varies from basketball (men and women), cross country/track, cycling, football, golf (men and women), soccer (men and women), softball, tennis (men and women) and volleyball.

Overall, I really like the structure and layout of the school. Everything is close by the school and the campus is beautiful. Also, the cost of attendance is low compared to other division II schools. Everyone in the city of Wichita Falls, TX are friendly and supportive of this school.

Academics

The average class size is about 15 students to 20. Most classrooms on campus are big enough to fit about 30 students. The professors are easy to approach and are available for help outside class time. I would suggest to not to take more than 15 hours because it can get stressful and overwhelming.

College Life

The school police department is located on campus. The campus is well lit at night. Campus police are always available on campus. Midwesten Athletic programs have been very successful over the years especially basketball. There are many school traditions here on campus that students stay involved in.

The college itself is an excellent institution and the environment is so welcoming! There is so much diversity with all of the foreign students. The campus police department has made the university feel secure from any possible danger. Great place to choose for a post secondary institution!

Academics

All of my professors are amazing! They all know how to relate to the student on a personal level so no one feels left out. There are so many different coursews to choose from, and all of them are so interesting to take. Whether it be French class or Colllge Connections, the student is guaranteed to have an excellent learning experience.

College Life

There are so many different groups and greek organizations to join! There is definitely something for everyone here and no one can feel like they don't fit in. If you have even the slightest interest in something, there is a club for it! Go Mustangs!!

Overall

The University is the perfect size for athletics and greek life. Its not so large that you are only a number. You know who the athletes are and the greek system is small enough where you can be involved so easily. My favorite thing is when campus life happens right in the middle of the campus. Everyone sets up booths and tables for all the student to enjoy. So much fun being able to walk through campus with you friends and see the campus come to life. Everyone enjoys the campus no matter what hobbies and activities they enjoy. I think that's what so great about Midwestern State University, it is so diverse. So many students with such different personalities and majors that all can come together as a student body. The dorm life is so great and having so many students live on campus creates so much life and there are so many activities hosted by the campus and also activities put on by the students for everyone to enjoy.

Academics

The class size is perfect. Not only are the classes small and the professors know you by name, but you also get to know all the students. Knowing students in my same major, athletic training, is so important to me. I will be with these peers until I graduate and getting to know them early made the classes and the experience of clinical hours so much more enjoyable. You become friends and your common interest is your major of study. The professors are amazing. They want to help you succeed instead of just wanting to get the semester over with and never see you again. The professors greet you on campus and talk to you. They give you their contact information so if you ever have problems or just had a questions you can call them anytime. They ask how your other professors are and if you feel like you are learning. They want to constantly update their learning methods and teaching techniques to better the students. They want to change ways that students do not feel like works in the classroom. They wasnt to make learning as fun as possible and help you succeed.

College Life

The campus safety is awesome. There is no crime on campus and you feel safe anytime day or night. The best part of the campus safety is they are looking our for all students and the surrounding campus. They are great at preventing anything from hurting the student, yet they are so enjoyable and great people. They will come and talk to you during your activities to see if there is anything that they can do to help. They don't just want to be the 'fun suckers' they want you to have fun and enjoy yourselves on campus as long as its not hurting anyone. The campus life is amazing! The best part about midwestern state. You have so much you can be involved with on campus anyone can help and find where they enjoy. Socially the campus is so diverse in personalities and backgrounds, but its so great how everyone greets each other with a southern smile and 'how are you doing?' the southern comfort really does show in this great campus.

I love my school! The food is good, the classes are great, and there is quite a bit to do in the area. Greek life is really big here. The faculty, students, and locals are all really nice! Defiantly come do a campus visit so you can get a good idea of what it's like.

Academics

The teachers really care about how you do. Classes are almost all less than 30 people. The biggest class I had was A&P with just over 100 people and my teacher still knew everyone's name. It has it's pros and cons, most teachers really do expect you to go to class everyday and some even take attendance, most give you extra credit for attending regularly. The professors are easy to talk to and help you out any way they can. They also get you involved in campus and community activities, especially your freshman year, which makes you more motivated to stay and finish your degree.

College Life

There's a handful of clubs in the area, although it's such a small town you'll probably see half the school there on college nights. Greek life is the largest on campus organization we have however there are clubs for practically everything you could think of. Campus is very safe. We've never had any major incidences in the three years I've been her. The campus activities board always has fun little things going on around campus and even offers a movie night every Friday (which is great to get to know people or if you don't have a car). Our sports teams are pretty good, especially soccer and basket ball. Plus athletics draws in a lot of foreign exchange students, giving you lots of chances to get to know what it's life for people outside of America. We also have a study abroad program that's a lot of fun. Rec sports is also a big thing here. The completion is always fun. The people really make this college. If you get involved with anything on or around campus you'll love this school. Come visit!

The size of MSU is nice. It's not too large, yet not too small. People are friendly and campus is small. Easy to get from class to class in a timely manner. I am in the nursing program and love all of my teachers.

Academics

Class sizes are fairly small. All my professors thus far have been great with the exception of one. The majority of the professors are helpful and love for you to come in and ask questions. They are always there to help. Workload is typical of most colleges. It's a fair amount.

College Life

Athletics at MSU have had a lot of success in the two years I have attended. I am a cross-country and track runner and have enjoyed the experience of being apart of a team at the collegiate level. We have a good amount of organizations you can join.

Midwestern State University is a hidden treasure. It offers all the perks of a big city University with the community and family feel of a small town school. One of the coolest things is that freshman can have cars on campus. Also the staff is really great.

Academics

I'm an art major and I have to say of all the schools I visited, even art schools, MSU had the largest studios. Not only is there ampel studio space but you have access to Professors who are real producing artists and who are often in the studio working along side you. Actually even the non-art professors on campus are great and readily accessable and most welcome you by their office anytime even just to chat. Also the class sizes (once you get out of your basics) are really great I think the student teacher ratio is like 19 to 1.

College Life

I don't do a lot of partying or that kind of student life, but I am involved in several campus honor societies. And besides that there is just always something going on. We have a big parade in the fall Carribean Fest and all the Carribean students show off their culture. Theres almost always a movie being shown somewhere on campus. For Easter this year there was a flahlight egg hunt. I know our basketball team has done extremly well the past couple years and our sports in general are pretty good.

Midwestern State University is a very well maintained campus with may opportunities to grow and expand. I personally enjoy the small campus feel it has because it doen't take long to walk across the whole university. The sports selection is limited but growing yearly whether sponsored by the school or not. My personal favorite memories are from sports and events my fraternity and I participate in.

Academics

MSU offers a very good selection of classes including Business, Teaching, Nursing, Geology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Biology, Psychology, Kinesiology, Art, Multimedia and many more. The classes are medium sized, averaging about 20 - 50 people depending upon the level of the class. Most of the professors that I have had have been relatively explanatory about the subject they are teaching. A lot of them provide powerpoint slides for their lectures and do examples based off of them and don't usually make your workload more than you can handle.

College Life

The social atmosphere is very open, most everyone will comunicate with anyone wanting to socialize. There a quite a few clubs and organizations, academic, athletic and greek. All of which work together most of the time along with the university to better the community of Wichita Falls and it's surroundings. Our athletic programs are top raked in our conference and nationally almost every semester in every sport. On weekends most enjoy outside sporting activities such as rec softball, volleyball, golf, horse riding or many others. In the evening you can go out to one of the local clubs, movie theaters, bars, restaurants, or even go play blacklight mini golf at the mall.

I wish I knew I had deadlines for everything, how important it was to choose your major ASAP, and how important it was to not take classes you don't need. How hard it is to pass a class when your professor has a thick accent. My favorite professor was Lindeman. The science and math department is my favorite. If you want to get around campus easily, get a bike. Trying to find a parking spot for your car will make you late to class. Greek life enhanced my experience. Those guys gave me a lot of good advice.

Academics

Most class sizes are 20, some classes are double that. They have great programs for business majors. The workload is minimal. Professors there aren't great at answering questions, so I always got help from tutors.

College Life

There's always something going on during the semester. Socially, it's a great atmosphere. I've never heard of someone's safety being threatened on campus. All of the sports matches are fun to watch, and free. They have a really nice fitness center, pool included.
