Overall

The experience while attending North Hennepin Community College both in preparing for the Nursing program and while in the program was a very positive one. They have a great pool of professors who make attending college such a great experience. All the help provided by them as questions/problems arose was much appreciated. The nursing staff provided a very positive learning experience. The simulation lab in the Nursing Department was excellent in giving students a hands-on learning experience in understanding concepts of nursing. The library/resource center has excellent resources to assist the student in preparing for lessons.

Academics

North Hennepin Community College has a wide variety of programs to attend. Most of the classes attended in preparing for the nursing program were very interesting. The sciences: Biology, Micriobiology and Anatamy and Physiology I and II were exceptional. History of Civilization was one of the most remarkable classes. Professor Deanna Forsman made the class so interesting with her teaching style; she was always engaged in her lessons. The nursing program was very fascinating, I always looked forward to the next lesson. Class sizes were quite large, but manageable. The workload is what one would expect for college level courses.

Campus Facilities & Safety

The campus atmosphere is typical for a college. Some of the facilities/buildings were dated, but the college was continually making improvements. The computer labs were an excellent resource. Parking was adequate. Security staff were always on site; I felt safe and they were there to help even when car problems occurred.

Overall

I liked how close it is to home and that they were extreamly helpful towards all my needs. I actually enjoyed going to school every day and I ended up meeting a lot of fun and active people . The teachers were almost always helpful and available to answer any questions I had with any given assignment.

Academics

Class size was moderate. Roughly around 30 kids/class room. The teachers were mostly helpful but it all depended on the class I was taking. Workload also depended on the class but overall I never had much of a problem keeping up with all my assignments.

Campus Facilities & Safety

I really liked how everything was connected so I didn't have to walk outside alone to get to anywhere. The computer lab was always easy to get into and normally was quiet enough for me to get all my work done and not be disterbed. The kids in the school seemed very active with social groups and activities and they always tried to get new members and broaden our knowledge on different subjects. Parking was normally easy to find decent spots early in the Mormon or around 3-4 pm but it was always just fine.
