Overall

Boston College is a lot of fun if you take advantage of everything going on on campus. Nightlife during the weekend is great, but the happiest students here tend to be those involved in clubs and sports throughout the week. I love it!

Academics

I have taken extremely interesting classes throughout my two semesters. Even as a freshmen, there are a lot of small classes available where you really learn a lot and get to know the professor. The sociology department is amazing and though I don't know personally, I have heard that the Management school is great and provides students with a lot of great employment opportunities. Workload can be a lot, but if you balance writing classes with classes that give tests, most students aren't too stressed out. Great motivated academic atmosphere!

College Life

Social life is great. Within the first few months people tend to find what they're really interested in and get involved in clubs. Clubs centered around diversity and leadership are extremely popular and are a great way to make good friends outside of the dorm. The sports games are huge and bring the whole student body together. Tailgating and cheering on the football team was so much fun my fall semester. If you get involved, BC is an incredibly fun and engaging school.

Overall

Going to college in Boston is GREAT!!! Because there are so many colleges, most of the city is students. BC was great because it was not right in the city but had easy access to get there. I made some wonderful friends with whom I am still close 11 years later. If it weren't for a great professor that I had at BC, I wouldn't be where I am today - which is succeeding in a job that I am truly passionate about.

Academics

As I am sure other schools are too, college can be as hard or as easy as you choose to make it. I worked hard, but felt rewarded by the experience. There were some professors who were GREAT and others that were merely so-so. The classes that were offered were large in amount and diverse. I never felt like I couldn't find an interesting class to take.

College Life

There is no Greek system, which I think is great. People were primarily "grouped" based on what activity they did. Like the theater people hung out with each other...the newspaper people hung out with each other, etc. I did theater at BC, and it was tons of fun because almost every weekend there was a performance of some kind and a big party afterwards. As for safety, I felt totally safe both on and off campus. I lived on campus my first two years and off campus the last two. I never felt like I was in danger anywhere.

Overall

Boston College is a good school for a lot of areas of study, but please, whatever you do, don't become a theater major there. I switched my major around several times while I was at BC. I think if I'd stuck with English or History, I would have at least gotten a pretty amazing education. The Theater Arts Department is pretty silly and, of course, very cliquey. Boston College is a great school to go to if you're already quite confident and from a pretty wealthy family. It's a really tough place for anyone who's a little bit different or artsy.

Academics

BC has some pretty intensive academics available if you want them. Most students there don't. Most students at BC are down to party and not much else. I took an amazing history class about World War II with Dr. John Heinemann that I I still think about 15 years later. The Theater Department is a total joke. If you're interested in Arts, try BU instead.

College Life

The weirdest thing about Boston College is that it's a bunch of heavy drinkers on a supposedly "dry" campus. Everyone drinks, but everyone has to pretend they don't drink--which makes for some interesting scenes as the party boys in the mods roll their kegs back to the stores every morning to get their deposits. There is also a pretty intense conservative Christian element at the school. And VERY little ethnic diversity. Greatest place on campus is Bapst Library. It's a beautiful old place.

Overall

Upon first impression, the campus is beautiful and people are friendly. Then, when you see academic facilities and learn about specific programs, Boston College becomes even more appealing. Also, all of the cureent students I know there really loved it and seemed truly happy there.

Academics

There are really great programs to put students on track to enter the work force after four years or to enter some type of graduate level school. The four diffrent schools allow for specifuc concentration in areas that students plan to get a career in.

College Life

With Boston a fifteen minute train ride, there is no shortage of fun activities at your disposal. Also, there is amazing school spirit and huge attendance for sports games including football and hockey.
