Overall

Saint Louis University is definitely a good school, but it mainly focuses on the biggest academic areas, such as engineer, physical therapy, and pre-medicine. As an Art student, I felt that my program was greatly overshadowed and that no one felt the same passion for the arts as I did. I would recommend it for people interested in those fields, but for anyone pursuing other goals, I would suggest another school that puts more effort into those programs.

Academics

Classes are very decent sizes, the average ranging from 15 to 30 students. Most professors are very kind and are interested in your personal success. As an art student, the workload was extremely manageable, I did not find myself struggling to keep up with work at all to the point where I wasn't challenged. It's a different story in the pre-medicine and engineering classes, but as for my classes I wished I had been more challenged and provoked academically.

College Life

The campus is very beautiful, especially in the fall, and everyone is kind and carries that midwestern hospitality. Campus safety is decent, but since the school is in the middle of a city, crime does happen quite often. It's just a matter of being smart about where you go, and you shouldn't have to deal with much crime. The school has numerous concerts that come to the school's arena, and many are free for students! But either than that most weekend activities rely on the students and their friends, and if you aren't a partier, it can be hard to find anything to do on a saturday night.
