ABOUT SAINT AUGUSTINE'S UNIVERSITY

Founded in 1867 by the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina, Saint Augustine's University (SAU) is a private, four-year historically black institution in Raleigh, North Carolina that offers varied and experiential learning opportunities. The mission of SAU is to provide a healthy learning community where students are prepared to excel academically, socially, and spiritually for leadership in a complex, diverse, and rapidly changing world.

The University is committed to offering rigorous academic programs and research opportunities at the undergraduate level to achieve its core values. Focused on developing the whole student, the five pillars of the SAU experience are: Academic Excellence, Cultural Enrichment, Leadership Development, Spiritual Formation and Healthy Execution. Students are celebrated, mentored and pushed to exceed expectations daily in a close-knit community which includes a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Student life includes more than 20 student organizations, a competitive athletic program, which includes a nationally-renowned track and field team, and regular exposure and opportunities for community involvement and professional development.
