Overall

I wish I knew what each major was offered and entailed when committing to this school. I love it but the major I want does not exist at this school. My favorite professor was Owen Cooney but he moved away. Eugene has great public transportation and as long as you have your school ID students ride for free. The atmosphere and commodity of the campus and people made me fall in love with this school, even though they don't have the major I want I can not see myself anywhere else. I identify myself as a duck and being a student at the UO, it is a part of me and always will be. I have so much pride to say I go to school there..

Academics

The classes are easy to get which every other friend at a different university has complained that they can't get the classes they need. I don't like the different schools for majors, some majors don't belong in those schools and they make you jump through pointless hoops.

College Life

Greek life is not very big so if you aren't in a sorority or frat it's ok there are still soooo many other things to do. Eugene is really small and there are only a few clubs around campus but there are some fun bars. It's safe compared to campuses like Berkeley but we really need more street lighting to prevent crime.

Overall

University of Oregon is a great school located in a great city. U of O benefits greatly from being in Eugene as Eugene is the perfect college town. Also, classes are generally pretty manageable in terms of size and teachers are very friendly and willing to help.

Academics

The business school is really great and the facilities are of the highest caliber. The chemistry laboratories for general chemistry classes were recently renovated and are state of the art. Professors are friendly and usually pretty laid back. Class size is always manageable, unless you're in a very general class, in which you may be in a lecture hall of up to 300.

College Life

Weather plays a big factor in Eugene: when it's nice, everyone's outside; when it rains, there is less to do. I have always felt safe on campus, and there are emergency SOS beacons every 100 yards or so in case there ever is a feeling that the safety is lacking.

Overall

great campus. awesome people and professors. laid back. best football program in the pac 10 (12 now). amazing memories. you are going to lose a lot of people completing this survey by requiring 200 characters per section. Just saying....

Academics

awesome and inspiring professors. very liberal. good class options. the advisors were lacking and should have been more involved w/ their students. that would be my largest complaing. sometimes i felt a little in the dark of what path i sould be taking.

College Life

great quaint bars, good restaurants, laid back life. fun parties. good concerts. awesome outdoors in the spring and summer. skiing, rafting, hiking near by. campus was a good size. big but not too big. i think there could have been more campus events that involved all students.

Overall

The campus is beautiful. The University puts a lot of emphasis on becoming more energy efficient. Everyone I met was polite and helpful. Academically, University of Oregon is far superior to any UC's.

Academics

University of Oregon has many different majors and minors, and several different colleges. They have both an Honors College and a Global Scholars program (eligibility is based on invitation only). All of their departments have faculty who have been nationally recognized.

College Life

Eugene is a busy city, but has a very "green" oriented atmosphere. There is an abundance of organic food and healthy eating options. University of Oregon has many great clubs that appeal to all special interests, I personally recommend the Horseback Riding Club.
