Academics Rating

Washington University is certainly not an easy school academically. The university strives to challenge students, yet ultimately gives them the best education available. There are hundreds of academic resources available to students to get additional assistance on work and assure success. Classes range from large 300 person lectures to intimate 5-15 person discussion classes. On all levels, the professors, TAs, and other involved faculty are accessible and approachable to students.

Academics Rating

What first attracted me to WashU was that it had a wide array of programs for undergraduates. I'm interested in Biomedical Engineering, a fairly new field that few universities offer. WashU not only has that program, it has a well-established one at that. During my tour, I was able to sit in the classrooms. Most of the classes have fewer than 20 students, and for me, that's a huge plus. I want to make the most of my college education, so getting more attention from the professor will help me learn more and learn faster. As WashU boasts of providing a world class education, you should be expecting harder-than-average curricula--and more opportunities to stretch your mind and imagination in ways you've never thought of before ;).
