Reading is a smaller city in the rolling mountains of Pennsylvania. The cost of living is low, and many residents enjoy the outdoor activities of hiking, exploring, and enjoying the many waterways that are located in and around Reading. 

Universities in Reading, PA- 4-Year Colleges and Online

There are three universities in Reading that offer students 4-year degrees, including one of Penn State’s several “Branch Campuses.”  The PSU campus is called Penn State Berks, named after the county, but the university is, indeed, located in the city of Reading. 

The other two 4-year colleges in Reading are Albright College and Alvernia University. 

Community Colleges in Reading, PA

The Reading Area Community College is the primary option for students looking for a 2-year degree in Reading, but there are also some trade schools such as the Reading Hospital School of Health Sciences and the American Barber Academy.

One of many people’s favorite parts about Reading is the full four seasons. Summers are hot and allow residents to get outside and enjoy the mountains in a hands-on sense, but fall is the best time to simply look at the beauty of the area. 

Snow sports are popular in the winter, and the spring is baseball time, as the Philadelphia Phillies’ minor league team calls Reading home.
