Louisiana Colleges

With more than 150 colleges and universities to choose from, Louisiana is a state of opportunity from Shreveport in the north down to New Orleans in the south. In between, Baton Rouge and Lafayette also are host to several Louisiana colleges. The University of Louisiana System includes eight public universities located throughout the state. Top ranked University of Louisiana, Lafayette has the best reputation of the pack, but schools like Louisiana Tech University, Nicholls State University and McNeese State University should not be overlooked either. Other top Southeastern colleges in Louisiana include Centenary College of Louisiana, Louisiana State University, Shreveport and Xavier University of Louisiana. US News & World Report’s list of America’s Best Colleges ranks the selective Tulane University as a top private school and it’s one of the few non-sectarian private colleges in Louisiana.
